Army Commander Urges Troops in South-East Operation to Maintain Discipline and Constitutional Focus

The Commander of 14 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Ahmad Mansur Dikko, has directed troops deployed under Sector 3 of Operation Delta Safe to maintain discipline, remain professional and carry out their constitutional duties in full.
Dikko gave the charge during an operational assessment visit to the Sector 3 headquarters in Owaza, Ukwa West Local Government Area, as part of activities under Operation Eastern Sanitation.
He was accompanied by the Commandant of the Nigerian Navy College of Accounting and Finance, Commodore B.U. Quadri. During the tour, the brigade commander also visited Sector 8, Operation CRUSH, in Akirika Obu, where he addressed personnel on readiness and conduct in a difficult operating climate.
In a statement issued on Friday, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, 14 Brigade, Captain Mazinho Attah, said the commander stressed professionalism, discipline and strict compliance with constitutional responsibilities across all mission tasks.
Attah said Dikko also urged troops to keep a high level of alertness because of what he described as an unpredictable security environment within their area of responsibility.
The statement said: “23 mattresses were procured for troops as part of soldier first culture inline with the Chief of Army Staff Philosophy Lt Gen Waidi Shaibu (NAM) to further boost troops morale in the discharge of their constitutional Responsibilities Within a Joint and Multi Agency Environment.
“The Commander 14 Brigade Brigadier General AM Dikko subsequently proceeded to the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Owaza, where he handed over a refurbished Toyota Hilux vehicle to troops, to enhance operational readiness and improve quick response capability across the Sector’s Area of Responsibility. The gesture underscores the Brigade’s sustained commitment to troops’ welfare and operational efficiency.
“The highlights of visit reassures commitment, resilience and welfare to troops operational readiness in a joint environment within the South East region of the country.
“14 Brigade Nigerian Army remains resolute in its unwavering commitment to the protection of citizens, the security of lives and property, and the defence of Nigeria’s sovereignty.”
The command’s intervention combined welfare support with logistics reinforcement, including sleeping materials and mobility assets for field units. The move is intended to support response time and improve working conditions for soldiers carrying out joint security duties in the South-East.
Military authorities said the visit reflects continued pressure on field formations to balance welfare, discipline and operational performance while sustaining public safety and territorial security in the region.
