Nigerian media personality Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode, known as Do2dtun, has appealed to social media users to stop attacking Afrobeats singer Adekunle Gold and his family online.

Do2dtun made the call in a post on X, where he pushed back against what he described as extreme comments about the singer. He said the volume and tone of insults aimed at Adekunle Gold had gone too far and urged people to separate criticism from bullying.

According to him, Adekunle Gold has made a strong contribution to Nigerian music and should be treated with respect for his work and consistency. Do2dtun said the singer has delivered classic albums and remains one of the biggest artistes to come out of Nigeria. He also pointed to Adekunle Gold’s performance record, including shutting down the National Theatre, as evidence of his impact in the industry.

Do2dtun said: “I think it’s time for you guys to leave AG alone. He gave us classic albums, this guy shut down a whole national theatre; an amazing performer, his craft is exceptionally untouched. I see the most despicable comments about him and his family. Mehn it’s enough. I believe if we all stand tall in many things in life, let us start with respecting people’s craft and life work. He remains unscarred and he is still one the biggest musician to ever come out of Nigeria. Una carry issue turn am to assault and extreme bullying. It’s enough”.

The post has added to a wider conversation about how public figures are treated on social media, especially when criticism shifts into personal abuse. Do2dtun’s message focused on respect for creative work and basic human dignity, while insisting that disagreement should not become harassment. His intervention places attention on the pressure many Nigerian entertainers face online, and on calls for more responsible engagement in digital spaces.
