The driver involved in the fatal road accident that left Nigerian-born former world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua injured has made a second appearance at Sagamu Magistrates Court in Ogun State.Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, aged 46, appeared before the court on Wednesday, where the case was adjourned until 13 March to allow prosecutors additional time to prepare their evidence.Kayode, who was behind the wheel when the Lexus SUV carrying Joshua crashed on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, faces multiple charges including causing death by dangerous driving, reckless and negligent driving, driving without due care and attention, and driving without a valid driver's licence. He has not yet entered a plea.The crash, which occurred on 29 December, claimed the lives of two members of Joshua's team. His personal trainer, Latif Ayodele, and strength coach, Sina Ghami, were both pronounced dead at the scene after their vehicle collided with a stationary lorry.Joshua, aged 36, sustained injuries in the incident and was admitted to hospital for treatment. The former British world heavyweight champion was discharged two days following the accident.The case has attracted significant attention due to Joshua's prominence in international boxing. The 36-year-old, who held multiple world heavyweight titles during his career, has been recovering from the injuries sustained in the December collision.The adjournment gives prosecutors additional time to compile evidence before proceedings continue in March. Kayode remains on bail pending the next court appearance.
