Nollywood actress Faithia Balogun has announced the burial arrangements for her mother, Gloria Williams, with the family confirming that the immediate ceremonies will be private and limited to invited guests.

Balogun shared the details on her Instagram page on Monday, outlining a three-day programme for the final rites. According to the schedule, the wake-keep will take place on Friday, March 6. Interment and lying-in-state are slated for Saturday, March 7, while a Thanksgiving Mass is set for Sunday, March 8, at St. Monica Catholic Church.

She said the family decided to keep the initial ceremonies restricted to close friends and relatives. The actress added that another date would be announced for a larger public burial event that would allow more people to attend.

In her message, Balogun thanked supporters who reached out after her mother’s death and acknowledged the calls, visits, and prayers sent to her family during the mourning period.

She wrote, “I want to specifically thank everyone who has reached out since the demise of my dear mother. I’m truly grateful for the emotional support, the calls, the visits and the show of love. May Allah (SWT) bless you all.

“For those who have asked for the burial details, the family has decided on a private ceremony strictly for close friends and relatives. However, a later date will be announced for the final burial ceremony that will accommodate all and sundry.

“Please note that if this invitation does not come from a designated number, there will be no admission into the hall.

“Thank you once again for the show of love. I do not take your expressions of love for granted. Thank you and God bless you.”

Last month, Balogun announced her mother’s passing and said the loss came shortly before her 55th birthday celebration. She described her late mother as her “cheerleader, prayer warrior, best friend and gist partner.”

The actress’ update has continued to draw sympathy from fans and colleagues, many of whom have sent condolences while awaiting details of the public ceremony the family said would be announced in due course.
