Former Porto Striker Bruno Moraes Backs Terem Moffi to Find Scoring Form

Former FC Porto striker Bruno Moraes has expressed confidence that Super Eagles forward Terem Moffi will soon rediscover his scoring touch, insisting the Nigerian needs time to fully integrate into his new team environment.

Moffi joined Porto on loan from French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice for the remainder of the season, with the agreement including an option to make the move permanent.

Since his arrival at the Portuguese giants, he has made two league appearances, both as a substitute, as the coaching staff carefully manage his reintroduction following a period away from regular competitive football.

Moraes highlighted that adaptation to a new tactical system and team dynamics can take time. He noted that the goals will come back, especially now that players like Deniz Gul and Moffi have more opportunities to integrate into the team, but they need some time to get the most out of it. He added that sometimes adaptation happens quickly, but other times it takes longer.

The former Porto forward underlined the importance of patience when assessing attacking players still adjusting to new surroundings, noting that Moffi's quality will translate into goals once he becomes comfortable with the squad and builds chemistry with his teammates.

Moraes also reflected on Porto's current tactical approach, noting the team has shifted from a highly aggressive start to the season to a more measured style that balances attacking ambition with defensive solidity. He suggested that managing results and maintaining consistency will be key as new players like Moffi and Gul integrate fully into the side.

Porto's coaching staff have deliberately limited Moffi's early playing time, introducing him mainly from the bench to ensure a gradual return to full competitive rhythm rather than rushing him into a starting role.

Moraes remains confident that, given time, the forward will deliver on the goal-scoring expectations that accompany his talent and potential.
