APC chieftain Joe Igbokwe has described the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as “all noise and no substance,” criticizing the party’s role in a recent opposition news conference in Abuja.
Igbokwe made the remarks in a Facebook post on Friday following a joint press briefing by the ADC and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), during which the parties condemned the Electoral Act 2026.
At the conference, NNPP National Chairman Ajuji Ahmed addressed journalists alongside prominent opposition figures, including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Buba Galadima, David Mark, Chibuike Amaechi, Rauf Aregbesola and others.
The opposition criticized the Electoral Act, recently signed into law by President Bola Tinubu on February 18, describing it as a threat to democracy and an attempt to entrench a one-party system. They vowed to use all constitutional means to block its implementation and urged the National Assembly to amend the law to reflect Nigerians’ aspirations for free, fair, and credible elections.
Reacting to the conference, Igbokwe singled out the ADC, dismissing its stance as hollow.
Sharing a photo from the event, he wrote:
“ADC’s center cannot hold. It has been movement without motion, all noise and no substance, full of sound and fury signifying nothing. It is that bad, and it is what it is. You cannot give what you do not have.”
As of press time, the ADC had not responded to Igbokwe’s remarks.
