Intrigues, tension in Kano as NDC, APC battle for 2027 governorship, presidential victories

The shape of what to expect in the 2027 election cycle in Kano came to the limelight on Friday, 29 May, 2026, when the 'Grand Commander' of the Kwankwasiyya Political Movement, Senator Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso, presented the immediate-past Deputy Governor of Kano state, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, as the governorship candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the state for the 2027 general election.
