The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria has announced a nationwide housing push aimed at helping up to 40,000 members secure homes, with Abuja set as a major starting point for the rollout.
Speaking in Abuja on Friday, IPMAN National President Alhaji Abubakar Maigandi Shettima said the association had already begun steps to translate the plan into actual housing delivery. He said the initiative targets members across regions and professional backgrounds, and is designed to combine residential access with long-term investment value.
Shettima said the association is focusing on quality delivery at the new IPMAN/G4Tech Energy Estate along Airport Road in Abuja. During an inspection visit with members of the National Executive Council, Central Working Committee and other officials, he described the project location as strategically placed near major growth corridors.
He said the site sits close to Aiben Property’s 1,000-hectare Hutu Royal Estate and the Centenary City project, and argued that the area’s expansion profile gives the development strong value prospects where land regulations are respected.
According to him, members from the East, West, North and other parts of the country are expected to benefit from the scheme, and the homes are being conceived to meet high residential standards. He said the houses are “so well-designed that even any nation’s President can consider occupying one.”
IPMAN National Secretary Chief James Terlumun Tor and National Director of Administration Mr Chidi Nnubia said members were encouraged to see the programme moving from concept to execution under the current leadership.
Tor said the project vision is rooted in Shettima’s private-sector experience and called on delivery partner G4Tech Limited to sustain quality and pace for members and their families.
G4Tech Project Manager, Engineer Olajide Adesina, said the company had been entrusted with building 1,500 units in the first phase. He said the location, along the Lugbe–Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport Road corridor, offers access to key infrastructure and proximity to the airport.
Adesina said the construction framework aligns with IPMAN’s aim of providing comfortable living conditions while creating homes that can appreciate in value over time.
If executed as outlined, the project could become one of the largest organised member-focused housing interventions tied to a professional association in Nigeria’s downstream oil and gas sector.
