Mikano Motors and Autochek Africa have announced a strategic partnership aimed at widening access to new vehicles in Nigeria through online discovery tools and financing options tailored to different income levels.
The alliance was unveiled on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Mikano’s Victoria Island showroom in Lagos, where both firms said the arrangement is expected to change how many Nigerians choose, finance and purchase cars.
Under the deal, buyers can now access Mikano’s catalogue on a dedicated virtual showroom hosted by Autochek. The listing includes models from Changan, Maxus and Deepal. Users can compare specifications, review payment structures, submit loan applications and obtain credit feedback without first visiting a physical dealership.
Group Executive Director of Mikano Motors, Joelle Haykal, said the company is positioning the partnership around ownership confidence, not just product availability. She said Mikano’s value proposition includes warranties of up to six years or 200,000 kilometres, together with nationwide after-sales support built over more than three decades of operations.
Haykal said: “Our focus has always been on providing confidence alongside mobility,” adding that the partnership creates additional financing paths for customers who need more flexible ownership structures.
Autochek Chief Executive Officer Etop Ikpe said vehicle demand in Nigeria has remained strong but affordable credit has been a long-standing obstacle for many households and businesses. He said linking Mikano’s product line to Autochek’s financing rails and partner banks would improve turnaround times and expand available loan choices.
According to Ikpe, the integrated model is designed to provide faster approvals and lending structures that match varying customer cash flow realities.
Industry observers say the launch reflects a larger shift in Nigeria’s auto retail market, where digital channels increasingly shape purchase decisions before buyers enter showrooms. By combining online convenience with established dealership operations, the model could raise competitive standards for automotive sales and financing.
Mikano Motors, a division of Mikano International, represents multiple global vehicle brands in Nigeria and has long promoted local-condition durability and after-sales reliability. Autochek Africa, for its part, continues to scale an automotive technology platform that supports vehicle buying, selling and financing across African markets.
Both companies said the partnership signals a practical move toward broader access, faster transaction cycles and more structured credit pathways in Nigeria’s vehicle ownership market.
