A five-day Oracle Primavera P6 training programme sponsored by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board has ended in Delta State after sessions for 50 participants.
The programme was executed by Mathnebi Nig Ltd and focused on practical project planning and control using Oracle Primavera P6, a tool widely used for scheduling and managing large industrial projects. Organisers said the core objective was to improve how Nigerian professionals structure timelines, assign resources and monitor execution risks in real work settings.
According to details from the closeout session, the training brought together participants from different organisations and gave them guided practice on the software’s key functions. These included project scheduling, activity sequencing, progress tracking and reporting. The organisers said the target was not only classroom knowledge but job-ready capability that participants can apply in ongoing projects across the sector.
At the closing event, Mathias Osanebi, Chief Executive Officer of Mathnebi Nig Ltd, thanked the NCDMB for awarding the training. He said the board’s support made it possible to deliver a focused programme for professionals who need stronger project management skills in the Nigerian oil and gas value chain.
Osanebi also commended President Bola Tinubu for support to the board under Engr Felix Omatsola Ogbe, saying that policy backing has helped expand local capacity-building efforts. The statement framed the training as part of a broader effort to deepen Nigerian expertise and reduce skills gaps in critical technical and operational areas.
Participants at the programme said the sessions were well organised and useful. They praised the trainers’ delivery and described the training materials as clear and relevant to field demands. Several attendees said the programme exceeded their expectations because it combined theory with practical exercises tied to industry tasks.
The training forms part of the NCDMB’s continuing local content agenda, which prioritises human capacity development as a foundation for stronger domestic participation in oil and gas operations. By supporting specialised tools training for Nigerian professionals, the board is positioning more local talent to handle planning and execution roles that affect project timelines, budget performance and delivery quality.
With 50 professionals now trained in Primavera P6 through this cycle, stakeholders expect wider benefits as participants apply their new skills in their organisations and future projects.
