Galatasaray secured a place in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 after edging Juventus 7-5 on aggregate in a dramatic two-legged tie decided on Wednesday in Turin.

The Turkish side came into the second leg with a 5-2 cushion from Istanbul, but Juventus pushed hard at the Allianz Stadium. Manuel Locatelli converted a first-half penalty to cut the deficit and raise hopes of a comeback.

Juventus suffered a setback early in the second half when Lloyd Kelly was sent off, reducing the hosts to 10 men. Despite that, the Italian club kept attacking. Federico Gatti scored from close range before Weston McKennie powered in a header to level the aggregate score and force extra time.

With the tie finely balanced, Victor Osimhen produced the decisive moment. The Nigerian forward ran onto a through ball in extra time and finished calmly to put Galatasaray back in front overall.

Baris Alper Yilmaz added another late goal to seal the result, ending Juventus’ resistance and confirming Galatasaray’s progress to the knockout stage.

Galatasaray will now face either Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur in the last 16.
