Serendipity House Widows Centre, Maryland, Lagos, has continued to execute impactful activities that make the lives of widows better and meaningful.

On 21 February 2026, the organization formally introduced the Daily Widows Clinic, an programme that caters to the medical needs of widows.

According to the chief missioner of Serendipity House Widows Foundation, Olori Dame Ayo Yemisi Jaiyeola, the programme is a structured daily health monitoring plan begun for widows aged 24 to 87+ years, young mothers, struggling middle-aged women, and elderly widows, who are managing hypertension and other health challenges.

She disclosed that blood pressure checks were conducted on the attendees, adding that they were also given health and fasting guidance.

Also very needful health supplements were distributed to widows. Lots of these widows have high blood pressure and Diabetes.

The missioner of the organization also disclosed that donated branded care packs were distributed to the women that attended the event.

Olori Jaiyeola disclosed that some widows who have been found with elevated blood pressure were asked to see their doctors and return to get prescribed medications from the centre. Without the day’s screening, we would not have known their blood pressure level.

She stressed the need to do more to assist the widows in terms of their health and others.

She asserted that widow care is no longer just feeding them, “It is health. It is dignity. It is prevention and it is life,” she declared.

Olori Jaiyeola thanked supporters and donors to the organization and prayed to God to continue to bless and uplift them.

She raised the alarm that the number of widows is increasing. We’re now over 45,000 members in Nigeria and we’re not able to go round to cope well.

She called for increased support and donation to support the feeding program of the organization.

Assuredly….. She says Serendipity House is 31 years in service and we pray to do more for widows even in the core project of feeding.
