The United States government has imposed sanctions on individuals and entities operating weapons procurement networks in Iran, Türkiye, and the United Arab Emirates.

According to a statement from the US Department of State, the designated targets were involved in supplying materials and support for Iran's ballistic missile and advanced conventional weapons development programmes.

The sanctions also targeted numerous shadow fleet vessels and their owners or operators. These vessels have reportedly transported hundreds of millions of dollars worth of goods in violation of international restrictions.

Washington maintains that Iran's missile programme poses a threat to regional security and has repeatedly taken action to disrupt supply chains aiding Iranian weapons development.
