Nigerian technology manufacturer Zinox Technologies has announced a strategic partnership with TD Africa, one of the continent's leading technology distribution companies, aimed at expanding the reach of Zinox products across Nigeria and 43 other African countries where TD Africa maintains market presence.

The partnership, unveiled at an event in Lagos, brings together Zinox's locally manufactured technology products – including laptop computers, Smart Boards, tablets, monitors, Point of Sale (PoS) terminals, and iPower and iTec electronics – with TD Africa's extensive distribution network.

Chioma Chimere, Coordinating Managing Director of TD Africa, described the collaboration as a significant milestone that combines innovation with distribution strength to deepen technology access across the continent. She emphasised the strategic value of partnering with an African technology manufacturer.

"Today we're announcing to our entire ecosystem that TD Africa is privileged to be partnering with Zinox Technologies, whose products are African, suited for African people," Chimere stated. "The partnership is a dream come true. When you partner with foreign vendors, you face a couple of challenges. The first is that most of them do not understand what it means to be African."

Chioma Nwoke, Executive Director and Group Strategic Human Resources Management at Zinox Technologies, explained that the partnership represents the culmination of a vision the company has pursued for over two decades – that Africa must move beyond merely consuming technology to actively building and scaling it.

"At Zinox Technologies, we have always believed that technology is only powerful when it is accessible, relevant and locally engineered to solve real problems," Nwoke said. "This belief has guided our investment in hardware manufacturing, software development and enterprise solutions across Nigeria and beyond."

Zinox Technologies has established itself as a pioneer in African technology manufacturing, producing devices that meet global standards while addressing specific African market needs. The company's product portfolio spans consumer electronics, enterprise solutions, and educational technology.

The partnership with TD Africa is expected to significantly enhance Zinox's market penetration by leveraging TD Africa's established relationships with retailers, corporate clients, and government institutions across the continent. TD Africa's presence in 43 countries provides Zinox with immediate access to markets that would otherwise require substantial investment and time to develop independently.

Industry observers view the alliance as a significant development for African technology manufacturing, demonstrating that locally produced hardware can compete with established international brands when supported by professional distribution networks.

The collaboration also aligns with broader African Union objectives regarding digital transformation and intra-African trade. By creating stronger linkages between Nigerian manufacturing and continental distribution, the partnership supports the goals of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement.

For Zinox, the partnership comes at a time of increasing demand for locally manufactured technology solutions across Africa, driven by factors including currency volatility making imported devices more expensive, and growing recognition of the importance of supporting indigenous technology ecosystems.
