Insta360’s last-gen Link 2C is fantastic 4K webcam now that it’s 20 percent off

If you spend a lot of time presenting or chatting over video, you know how big a difference a decent webcam can make. Thankfully, if you’re looking to level up your setup at home or at work, the last-gen Insta360 Link 2C is currently available for $119.99 ($30 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and B&H Photo. That’s the lowest price we’ve seen so far this year and only $20 more than the webcam’s lowest price to date. Insta360 Link 2C webcam Where to Buy: $149 $119.99 at Amazon $149 $119.99 at Best Buy $149 $119.99 at B&H Photo The Link 2C is the cheapest Link you can buy right now, and as such, it lacks the motorized gimbal found on its pricier counterparts. However, although it can’t physically follow you as you move around the room, it still uses AI-powered auto framing to digitally zoom and adjust, helping keep you — and anyone else you’re with — centered in the frame. Its half-inch sensor and 26-millimeter equivalent f1.8 lens also support up to 4K at 30fps or 1080p at 60fps, which is a noticeable step up from the 720p or 1080p resolution found on most built-in laptop webcams. Like other models, the 2C comes with a magnetic mount that’s dead simple to attach to your monitor or laptop, and because it’s aimed at presentations, it supports a slew of useful gesture controls that let you zoom or activate features remotely without touching your computer. Overhead modes like DeskView, meanwhile, make it easy to display what’s on your desk, while an intuitive Smart Whiteboard mode allows you to keep your whiteboard squared off in frame so it’s always visible and properly aligned for those on the call. The webcam’s ability to filter out typing, traffic, and other background noise is just a plus.

Wait, the Trump phone might actually exist

The Trumpometer is just beginning to shift. | Image: The Verge / Shutterstock Where's the Trump phone? We're going to keep talking about it every week. We've reached out, as usual, to ask about the Trump phone's whereabouts. This week I think I've found an FCC listing for the phone, showing it's received certification to launch in the US. Last week I issued a reminder that Trump Mobile's T1 Phone does not exist, and may never exist, despite the fact that the company showed me a phone in an effort to convince me otherwise. Today instead I bring cause for optimism for the Trump phone believers: it appears to have been certified by the FCC. FCC listings for a smartphone with the trade name "T1" show that it was tested … Read the full story at The Verge.
